Do you find that special strings are needed to play in the chordal style that you do. Seems like I get a lot of squeaking when I slide my fingers on my strings. What strings do you use? This will be the first time I have changed strings since beginning to play so any info would be helpful.

I use round wounds in a medium light guage. I have experimented with a number of strings, most are great, some I disliked a great deal. I prefer Nickel Silver over Stainless, the sound is abit warmer (less skeaky, perhaps). Currently I am using up my stock of Fodera's in guages .040 - .010. I then will be using the MTD strings as I am now a product specialist for MTD. Both brands of strings have served me well.
