I'm looking for some kind of fingerstyle equivalent to a guitarists' usage of a pick. equivalent not in "speed", but some kind of P,A,M,I formation to hammering on and off chords as I please while raking all of my higher strings. so is what I am looking for some kind of bass/classical guitar hybrid strumming technique? If you know of anything I can apply to the context I'm looking for without the use of a pick, I'd greatly appreciate it. Exercise#002 - gearshifts b. the instructor points to the gears in a random order as the driver calls back out the name of each specific gear and asks the driver whats the importance of each one. Exercise#003 - gearshifts c. to better the muscle used for E-brake usage, this drill has the driver "snapping-and-releasing" the brake to its bottom and top positions repeatedly. Exercise#001 - pedaling/pedal sensitivity, basics the driver will be asked to mash the pedal down in a parked gear with the lightest touch possible, while still actually applying gas. holding the pressure for a small duration of time, and finally releasing it. after that, the driver will mash the pedal again, trying to find the exact sensitivity as before. Exercise#002 - pedaling/pedal sensitivity, basics the driver will be asked to mash the brake pedal down in a parked gear one time naturally, and every other time its mashed down to the throttle any other time its done noticeably slower than the last repetition. Exercise#003 - pedaling/pedal sensitivity, matching pitch the driver will be asked to mash the pedal down in a parked gear with the lightest touch, while still actually applying gas. holding the pressure for a small duration of time. once a sweet spot is found+held, the driver will "dig" deeper into the pedal by mashing harder and repeating the process. Exercise#004 - pedaling/slowing down and braking the driver will be asked to mash the pedal down while keeping the gas and miles-per-hours both consistent. after a few moments, the foot should be released and the car should coast, eventually the brake will be applied to stop the car right before a designated landmark. subsequently the driver will reverse and repeat the drill. Exercise#001 - Steering exercise one, would like the driver to turn the wheel to the furthest LEFT extreme, and then back to its original position with the window down for a better view of the actual rotation process. Exercise#002 - Steering exercise two, would like the driver to turn the wheel to the furthest RIGHT extreme, and then back to its original position with the window down for a better view of the actual rotation process. Exercise#003 - Steering exercise three, would like the driver to turn the wheel to the furthest LEFT extreme, and then back to its original position on contrary with both windows raised. Exercise#004 - Steering exercise three, would like the driver to turn the wheel to the furthest RIGHT extreme, and then back to its original position on contrary with both windows raised. Exercise#005 - Steering the driver would be required to rotate the steering to LEFT extreme while applying consistent pressure to the gas pedal. forcing the car to take upon a lapped circle maneuver. this drill would benefit, reinforce and reinstate the pedal sensitivities learned prior. Exercise#006 - Steering the driver would be required to rotate the steering to RIGHT extreme while applying consistent pressure to the gas pedal. forcing the car to take upon a lapped circle maneuver. this drill would benefit, reinforce and reinstate the pedal sensitivities learned prior. Exercise#007 - Steering the driver would be required to rotate the steering to LEFT extreme while applying consistent pressure to the gas pedal in REVERSE. forcing the car to take upon a lapped circle maneuver. this drill would benefit, reinforce and reinstate the pedal sensitivities learned prior. Exercise#008 - Steering the driver would be required to rotate the steering to RIGHT extreme while applying consistent pressure to the gas pedal in REVERSE. forcing the car to take upon a lapped circle maneuver. this drill would benefit, reinforce and reinstate the pedal sensitivities learned prior. exercise#001 - basic turning this exercise has the driver practicing and drilling over the three-to-four mechanics of basic turning and asked to repeat them in repetition until they become second nature in the parked gear. exercise#003 - 3pt turning the driver would be asked to park the car in front of a barrier, (ex:- side of a store, light-post, etc) to begin the drill. said driver will eventually move the car by reversing the wheels at an angle, putting the car back in drive and making a bold turn away from said barrier. exercise#001 - parking in this exercise the driver will approach columns from a left-hand side of the parking lot. after completing and choosing a spot to park, the driver should get out and check for lane spacing. if the park is satisfactory, the driver should get back in the car, reverse out the spot and repeat the process for the spot right next to the previous one. exercise#001 - parking in this exercise the driver will approach columns from a right-hand side of the parking lot. after completing and choosing a spot to park, the driver should get out and check for lane spacing. if the park is satisfactory, the driver should get back in the car, reverse out the spot and repeat the process for the spot right next to the previous one. Exercise#000 - parking, direct (#1) in this exercise the driver will approach columns from a top-down, straight-ahead view, promising to directly park into a spot in its most basic form. after finishing a park, the driver should get out and manually check for lane spacing. if the park is satisfactory, the driver should park in the spot directly in front of the previous one and work through the lot. Exercise#000 - parking, reversed in this exercise the driver will approach columns from a top-down, straight-ahead view, promising to directly reverse into a parking spot. after finishing a park, the driver should get out and manually check for lane spacing. if the park is satisfactory, the driver should reverse back, and park in the next spot above or behind the previous one working through the entire lot. + make a progress log/completion chart + add in durations/repetitions for exercises too.
I find an Elliott Smith like strumming on bass to work great. Elliott was a guitarist, but he didn't use a pick, and his technique transfers great to bass. you can get an idea of how it works here It's basically using the thumb and inside pad of the index to strum back and forth, and throwing in the nail of the index on down beats and accents. So far I've found it to be the best strumming technique to control dynamics, and to get fast with ease.
appreciate the response, I figured I'd have to turn to classical/acoustical guitarists, they have all the answers. gawd i'll look more into elliot, thanks.
i´m pretty sure carles benavent uses a huge manouche-like pick, BUT nevertheless, check out some flamenco strumming, using index, middle and sometimes index finger works great for me when not using a pick...
I love the old-skool uTube vids of 'ol Les... I started doing it like that back in the day and I still do it...
