what strings do you guys have strung on your basses and why?

Ive been a d'addario guy for some time but a while back bought a set of elixirs, sound just as great as the dads and last 3 tiems as long. on month 7 and there just starting to die.

Hah! I've got my Jazz and Ibanez the opposite way around (but I think I might put TI Flats on my Jazz and Labellas on my Ibanez next go-round).

    Fenders on my Godin.
Dean Markley Blue Steels on my Fender Jazz.
DR Lo Riders on my Peavery Fury IV.

I think given the sample I am playing now I prefer the DR Lo Riders. I wouldn't mind going back to TI Jazz Flats - those are really nice strings.

Shouldn't this be in the strings forum?

My Fretted's all have John Pearse strings which are so much better than anything else I've played it makes me cry.

I believe the 2 fretlesses have LaBella flats on them.

SIT strings on all my 4 and 5 string basses. I love them, they sound great, stay bright for quite some time and they last longer than most others I've tried.

  18. wow, i'm suprised so many people use DR's.. I've got DR Hi-beams on all!
  19. I'm glad there's someone else out there who uses Elites. I was wondering if i was the only one as i read down the thread. I do agree about wearing them in...but when you've played them in a bit they sound beautiful on my Yamaha RBX-775!! (There nickles are quite nice too)

I have been through many types of strings...

    GHS, DR, Fender etc. etc.

I finally bought Elixir strings last year and I haven´t looked back since!

They are just starting to wear out now and I have another set which I will put on the bass this weekend.

Love the feel and tone of the Elixir strings. I was a bit afraid that the tone from a pick would be somewhat lacking, but it is not.

    I like them very much!

Edit: I use the Elixir strings on my Fender MIA Jazz V.
