does anyone have soundclips of a stu hamm urge II played fingerstyle. They of course have videos of stu playing but it's all tapping. Tapping's not my things

  2. Sorry i dont have any soundclips, but i saw him and his Urge at a clinic recently, and the tapping sound on some of the youtube videos is just about spot on. As for fingerstyle, im not sure whether he had the central P pickup dialed in or not, but it sounded like a slightly dirtier jazz bass in my opinion.

I've owned two. No sound clips, but it was a slick bass. I'm partial to Sadowsky's now, but the Urge II was probably my second or third favorite type of bass I've had the chance to play.

I have an Urge II and I don't tap either (strictly fingerstyle) or have soundclips, but I can tell you that it gives excellent tone for fingerstyle. Very muscular, or dub, or bright modern. It's a very versatile bass and I find all the pickup combinations produce really good usable tones. The stand alone P and J tones are very authentic. Fender really put some thought into this one and it's a winner IMO. If something happened to it I'm sure I would get another.
