Did a swap with a guy here - my Spector Rebop 5 for a Cort/Elrick Josh Paul 5.

    I expected to like it.

Now I love it. Best tone out of a bass I've ever owned. I'm questioning now whether to even play my Rickenbacker 4003 at gigs.

Even the guys in my band were stunned the first time I brought it out. They all love the tone out of this thing. Amazing sound. Light body. Gorgeous finish.

I'm absolutely floored. Well, I don't think the Traben Kore 5 is going to get much work either now.

it is a great bass, esp for the money. I thought the B string was a tad floppy, but for the money it's hard to complain

How do you like the zero fret as opposed to a traditional nut?

I have that bass and it is also one of my favs. One of the best bang for the bucks there is. You got yours on a trade you lucky dog. Which color did you get the natural, green, or red? The zero fret just makes your open notes sound similar to your fretted notes. Nice touch on a bass that normally costs anywhere from 700 to 850 dollars brand new. They are not talked about a lot here on TB because I think people think they are a Cort and they are cheap. I think this bass leans more to the Elrick side than the Cort side. :eyebrow:

You also have to update your setup info. ;)

    Got the natural finish.

And yup, I'm pretty happy with it. It's got a really lovely tone to it. I'm pleasantly surprised.

of course, I had to swap my rebop 5 for it, but that's ok. It seems to have worked out both ways.
