I just fiddled with my SB1 intonation. In order to get the E string properly intonated , I had to move the saddle up towards the neck past the A string saddle. WHY IS THIS? I tried moving the E saddle back lower than the A, but it wouldn't intonate properly.
The other saddles graduate up towards the neck like "normal".
Is there any rhyme or reason to how the saddles are supposed to end up?

  2. I've found that the saddles generally move farther from the neck the thicker the string is, although if the string type changes (wound to unwound, for example, on a guitar), then there will be a little break in the pattern and then things will continue as usual. Is your E differantly constructed than the other strings are?
