Stupid backline 600 question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by mb17180116, Nov 4, 2006.

  1. I just recently got a Backline 600 head to run through a 500 watt ampeg 4x10...my question is...in the back of the head, there are two outputs, and in the back of the cab there are two inputs. Is this so you can power two cabs with the head/daisy chain cabs, or am i only giving a signal to two of my speakers?

The extra connectors are for daisy chaining. You only need one cable from the head to the speaker.

    +1 on what fdeck wrote.

It's important to remember that since your cabinet (the SVT410-HLF right?) has a 4 ohm impedance, you cannot run another cabinet with the BL600 (since it shouldn't be operated below 4 ohms).
  4. Yes....and just to make sure i got this down, in order to run two cabs i would need two 8 ohm cabinets...

Yes, 8 ohms would be the minimum impedance of each.
