are the pickup covers replaceable? I have a white one, and am thinking of going to a clear pickguard, and it would look a lot better black than white. Is there a way of replacing the covers without the risk of destroying stuff? Or am I better off to just trade someone for black, or is there a way to re-color the current one, without being too jenky about it.....thanks.

There really is no "cover". The plastic part that we usually think of as a cover is not removable on the MM PU's.

    Hi Chuck,

I think that it depends on the StingRay, in my '94 and others EB MM StingRays that I've seen the pickup cover is replaceable. You unscrew the three small screws and it comes out easily. Maybe is different in the pre-EB or the 5 string Rays, although I recall somebody post recently about how EB replaced the pickguard and pickup cover at no cost in a SR5.
