is it possible to play a bass head through a guitar cabinet without blowing the speakers? my friend has a hartke solid state head. he wants to play it throug a marshall jcm 800 cab. is this absolutely stupid? or will it work without destroying my amp? please let me know. it will help a lot. thanks in advance.

i would say no, unless its really really really quiet, if your going to play it loud then dont try it.

It won't have any affect on your amp (unless there is a complete mismatch of amp and speaker impedance - which is unlikely). However, as the previous post mentions, you do run the risk of damaging the speakers if you're playing bass through speakers not designed for bass.
