My friend turned me on to essex basses, He said that his jazz model plays better than his $800.00 MIA fender jazz. Now im going to buy a jazz model and have a question: Which color do you think looks the sickest? The one i think im going to get is this one http://www.rondomusic.bigstep.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=850849|940496&PRID=1170743 I think the flame top would look pretty awesome with a tortise shell pickguard. Or do you think i should get one of these standard colors for 10.00 less? http://www.rondomusic.bigstep.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=850849|940496&PRID=1144898
I think the sunburst WITHOUT a pick guard, just the metal bit where the volume.tone knobs are would look pretty good IMO of corse
Keeping in mind, of course, that just the pickups in a good Jazz Bass cost as much as the whole danged Essex bass. What could this mean?
If you lived in England, you would have come up with a joke that linked the words, "Essex", "Girl" and "Cheap"!
Not yet. But I hear the MIM models are very good deals for the money - .....Okay, enough of my fooling around at Uzza's expense. (Doggone, that notduane gets me started every danged time!) Seriously, Uzza, - the looks, just like sound, are very personal taste pereferences. If it is most pleasing to you, that is what matters. It's YOUR MONEY that's being spent, not anyone else's. When it comes to cosmetics, a lot of people don't consider, "Will this still look good to me 6 months from now??? Or is it just something flashy I'll get tired of looking at in 3 weeks???"........you know, like girlfriends/boyfriends.
Hey Bruce, fill me in on those girls from Chester. I was wandering around there one time, taking pictures at about 9 pm (it was still light), and five good-looking drunk girls stopped me and tried to get me to go with them. The temptation was great, but I'm not the adulterous type. So I took their picture while they lifted up their skirts and gave a kick, and they gave up and sauntered away. I know they must've been very disappointed, but what could I do? What's the deal on that?
