    Hello All,

Looking for some suggestions for a sub cab, maybe a 1 x 18, but one thats compactly constructed. Actually, the speaker size doesnt have to be an 18 .... as long as it handles low freq real well at 500w or higher without a hint of struggle. If any of you guys have experienced using one or seen one, pls let me know what any info you have on it.

I saw one at a show once, it was an 18", roughly 24"x18x24" dimension. It wouldve been perfect, but couldnt tell what brand it was and didnt get a chance to talk to the owner.

Your suggestions will be much appreciated. If you have one for sale, let me know too. Thanks.

Perfectly describes the Bag End INFRA (formerly ELF) series of extended low freq subs. They are principally marketed for PA use, but I've used a Bag End ELF 118 with 212s, 210s and 215s for years and can recommend it for effortless extended low end (down to unparalleled low frequencies). Downsides, an ELF/INFRA cab requires a Bag End "integrator" (1 space rack unit) to get the extended lows and a dedicated power amp channel to run the LF signal to the sub. Upsides, better lows than you've ever heard, surprisingly compact (my 118 is 21"X22"X18") and light (64 lb). There was recently a pretty comprehensive thread here on the ELF/INFRA subs if you search. :)

I've got an old 8ohm 800w 18" PA sub that I use for sub duties when its completely unnecessary. I picked it up used for something like $200.00, works well...
