Do I really need a sub cab?

My BE 15" has no trouble w/ my B string, and it's only rated down to 50 hz. However, my dbx subharmonic synth is on the way and I've decided to try and gig my GR77B, which goes *really* low.

Will these blow my BE at performance volumes? Should I be looking into an 18" or other dedicated sub?

  2. Probably.

I own the DBX 120a sub-synth and it puts out 26 Hz. The Bag End appears to be tuned very high, but I have not yet had one on the bench for testing. I've seen one smoked already, so don't over drive it.

  3. I also own one and never found the need for the deepest level of synthesis, preferring the 36-56Hz range. Your cab should be fine for that but yeah, don't push yer luck.
