Substitute for Peavey Millennium AC BXP 5 String

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by JoeBbass, Oct 10, 2013.

  1. I fell in love with Peavey Millennium AC BXP 5 String and ordered it on Saturday. However I've just discovered that Peavey have discontinued it. Whilst I will try and find one on the secondhand market I was wondering if anyone knew of any 5 string active basses around the same price (below $550/£320)?

I've always thought the low end of the Ibanez SR series basses were similar to that Peavey series. The SR505 is an excellent bass, I owned one for a while until I determined that its string spacing was just too narrow for me. That one is is out of your range when new but the 400 and 300 series SRs are in your range and also very nice.

For that much money, you can get a used Made In America Millennium 5.

ESP has several in their LTD line that fall in to the sub $550 category. I have a D-5, and quite enjoy it.
