I have a beautiful Warwick Streamer Stage fretless, and I'm just wondering if I could get rid of that muddy sound (waaay too phat for my taste!),wich comes from the split-coil neck pick-up,wich is the original MEC.Maybe the new magnets from MEC sound "better"in this respect,(mine's from 1991),but...I'm searching for a different sound, something like a J-pick-up (frankly speaking,I wish that "Jaco-sound...".Of course,it should have the same size and format as the split-coil,because I don't dare to dig the body!
    Any comments welcome!
PS Don't bother, the mud I'm talking to doesn't come from the amp, everything is more than OK in this area!
