My translation of WINNIFRED'S secret message is :

"FOGHORN - I'll be throwing down the groove at train station X from 4:30 to 7:00 on these days if you want to come check me and my axe out."

    Brit version:

    "My Dear Fuqua,

If you should happen to be at the Tube station at 59th Street and Columbus for any reason whatsoever between these most decidedly busy hours, it would be lovely if you cared to stop by and give me the benefit of your most excellent company. We could enjoy a spot of tea and perhaps a crumpet or two as we discuss the finer points of double basses and double bass playing in general. Tally Ho!"

  4. My warmest and most heartfelt confabulations on such an erudite and illuminating translation. Thankyou sir.
