  2. What kind of music are you guys normally playing?

    60's surf tunes rule-

The first two instrumentals that came to mind were "Walk Don't Run" from the Ventures and Santo & Johnny's "Sleepwalk"

  4. Surf music really isn't your thing, is it then? :p

How about that RHCP instrumental off Mother's Milk? I mean that Crazytown song... :rollno:

  5. Maybe a funky version of Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein".

Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
"Pursuit of the Pimpmobile" or "Cafe Regio" by Isaac Hayes. They're both parent safe, dope, and a blast to play!

    "Transylvania" - Iron Maiden...j/k it's just a cool song.

If your guitar player is up to it, any song by Joe Satriani.

    "In Memoriam" - Hammerfall...?

  11. Fire on High - ELO - good rock instrumental

Cliffs of Dover- Eric Johnson- if the guitar can do it, you can wow crowds.

  15. I'm giving my age away with this one (like it's not in my profile :D )
but how about, "Pick Up The Pieces," (1974) by The Average White Band?

It's a really funky song, and no part of it is hard to play. In fact, most parts are pretty easy. If you don't have a sax player, and I assume that you don't, you can have the keyboard or a guitar play that part.

If you play it, I bet you impress all the parents. ;)

"Holdin' Out" by Indigenous - we normally start with that song. Very Hendrix\SRV sounding. Lenny is another good SRV tune - slow, but rocks. Jessica by the Allman Brothers is a good one. Wipeout is a catchy one and easy to pull off. Can you tell I'm a classic-rock fan? :p

Another cool idea might be to do a medly of some sort. Especially if you could do a new\fresh rocking\funky take on some old school (rock or R&B) tunes. Might be something the kids may like and the parents enjoy and relate to as well...
