Have been gasing for a Jazz bass of late.
Have used a fretted and fretless Percision for past three years.
Came across a Suhr custom Jazz Bass. New.
    Never played one before.
    Top shelf, Mid-60's style jazz.
    Alder Body.
    Maple Neck.
    Rosewood fingerboard. ( real nice)
    J Hammond jazz pickups-active.
    Ocean Terquoise-color.
    Tourtise pickguard.
    weight under 9 lbs.
Workmanship- As good a USA Lakland and close to Sadowski.
Sound- Cross between Lakland and Sadowski.
Has that vitage fender sound but with hint of Sadowski
    pre-amp sound.
Big, full, focused, hotter than a fender.
    Plays like butter.
These Basses are not cheap, $2500-$2800.
Bottom line- Could not be happier.
    Jazz Bass heaven.

India.Arie's bassist has one, and I've gotta admit, it's one of the sickest basses I've ever played. It's definately got some mojo happening.

Congratulations on Suhr bass. Play one. They blow everything else away. All due repect to other J basses, but these nail the pre-cbs sound and are modern at the same time. Workmanship and customer service the tops. But the sound is whee you wll feel the jones. This bass sounds like Lee Morgan.

Suhr is ex-Fender Custom Shop. I've never played one of his basses, but everyone I know who has puts them right up with the best Masterbuild CS instruments.
  12. Sure, Shure, Suhr. I get so confused.

  17. Suhr's are smokin'. Probably the best neck I have ever played. Very nice shape. My father-in-law bought one of the strat's and it is unreal. Tone for days!
