Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you guys have tried any Suhr pickups before. And how did it turn out for you guys...

I am planning to change my stock pickups to suhr pickups and wondering what models are good if I want to achieve both the sounds of the P and J-bass.

I currently own a Fernandez copy of a J-bass made in the 80's.

    Need some advice, thanks!

you won't get "P" out of a jazz; anyway suhr makes excellent pickups.

The closest you'll get out of the jazz neck location is to go with a split coil J design (not a humbucker, but a split side-by-side coil). That's what a P pickup is: a series connected split pickup in an offsety housing. A split J pickup would be the same concept, only not offset.

Good luck. And FWIW, I have a set of Suhr-designed split-coil jazz pickups in my 2000 Fender Deluxe V, and I l-o-v-e the tone.
