The TB rule is: no pics = doesn't exist

Since the bass isn't built it technically doesn't exist. But to appease the photo hos:

Here's one of the piles of wood the body is probably gonna come from

Here's the work bench that the bass will be worked on

Here's one of the guys who will be working on the bass

(yup, everything is done by hand. Even the inlay on the headstock)

  7. The gas is so thick here you could cut it with a knife. What does spanish cedar look like/ what's the finish going to be?

Sorry. Didn't realize that it was beeing built. I read your post too quickly.

Nothing like the anticipation of getting a Roscoe... except when you get it and it exceeds your expectations!

Ah, I'm glad to hear you went through Jong. What's the estimate as to how long you have to wait? I've only heard one Roscoe, and it was a sonic force to be reckoned with. :bassist:

    Cool!

Has Roscoe done the wenge/maple neck thing before? How'd it turn out?

Why'd you go for the LG body instead of the SKB? Just curious.

Actually, the wenge center lamination is one of our "standard, but not on the price sheet" options. We've made quite a few basses with that option, most recently the Ebony topped SKB 3006 that's going to TBer Akito.

Tonally, I really can't say there is any huge difference over the same neck with the purpleheart center lamination, structurally, both are very stable and strong.

    Madrone Burl.

It is a truly sick piece of wood....we called it "the brain" when it arrived in the shop, because...well...it literally looked like a brain!

The best part, it plays and sounds as good or better than it looks, that is a REALLY GOOD one (they're all really good of course...:ninja:...what, who me, prejudiced??? :spit: ).
