I was looking at the schematics for various Sunn amps and the tone stack for the Coliseum caught my eye.

Anybody with actual experience with this amp care to comment on the tone controls? Versatile? Useful? Overkill?

I assume you're talking about the Coliseum
Bass heads? I don't think they're overkill; having a seperate preamp for each frequency range is kinda cool IMHO. Makes biamping without a crossover a LOT easier.

How did you find the frequency centers?

I am thinking of building a stand alone tone stack to put in front of a preamp. I am actually off to the bassment(sic) to breadboard the Hi Bass control now.

Doesn't it say it on the actual amps themselves?

Anyways, I read it in an interview somewhere, probably the sunn shack.

Huh? I don't know squat about solid state Sunn gear so bear with me, but your Coliseum has seperate preamp outs for each band on the graphic?
