I have an opportunity to get a Sunn 2x15 with JBL K140 in it to put with my newly acquired 200s but the cab itself is in pretty rough shape. Does anyone know of someone in the Seattle area that could do a restoration on it? I'd like to get some prices on it before pulling the trigger. Thanks

    What's the guy asking?

It may be worth it just to get the K140s.

$500. But it’s been up for sale for quite awhile now.

It says 215b but it looks like the cab that maybe came with the Sorado. Didn't those have the two round ports in the front?

Well, never mind. I ended up buying this one instead.

That took care of buying one in rough shape. The cab in the picture looks great.

What did you pay for that one you got? It sports the original(and impossible to find separately)grill cloth, you can date it to no later than 1969(after that, when Hartzell took over the company, they used a Fender-like design). Have you had the back panel off of it? It looks JBL loaded, therefore it should be a 200s cab, with the angled port chambers. The Sorado, as you stated, is a straight-forward baffle with two small round ports/tubes that usually came with cheaper CTS drivers; that, with the Sorado head, was a budget version of the 200s, but ironically the heads were identical except for the model name.

    Nice!

    JBL's?

For the few spots of cab dings, I use a marker to fill in.

Pics when you have your whole rig setup would be cool.

I called my local bass shop here in West Seattle to ask if he could recommend a restoration place for me. He said, well, we have one here in good shape. He didn’t put it up on his site because he wanted to keep it local. Not ship it. I haven’t been in there for a few weeks so I lucked out. I was also considering a 115s from GC. By the time I put a JBL in it I’d be at $550. So This one was a pretty good deal I think

    That
That’s good info. I admittedly don’t know a lot about Sunn gear.
Once I get everything all put together I’ll post pics and info in The Sunn thread mentioned above.

I suggest opening it up and taking pics of the speakers before getting any work done on it. Post those pics too!

Oh I don’t plan on getting any work done on this cab. There was one I was looking at before I found this one that needed a lot of work. Still going to open it up and get those pics though
