Hey, I found someone selling this bass on the net. I will post below all the details they include, as well as some of the pictures. It is currently selling at $250 USD. So, WHAT IS THIS BASS? Would it sound good? What would it actually be worth? Is it worth buying? Is this an insanely good deal? Please tell me your thoughts and opinions on this bass.

This is exactly what they said about it: "I found this in Florida this weekend. I am not an expert with guitars so please email me with your questions. This vintage bass guitar is extremely well made! I am not sure of the age!! It is old though!! 1970/80's...The Grover tuners are in excellent condtion. I think this is a very early bass that has been custom painted? There is a serial number on the back of the neck...(880510422) it is a label. I can't seem to find any other markings anywhere. I do not know who made it!! The PSYCHEDELIC paintings are all hand done! I think it is signed at the bottom..Amazing detail! In very good condition. I have not plugged this in so I assume it works... but please buy as is!! It is in very good vintage condition. I cannot find too much info about this style of guitar.. There is absolutely no warpage to the neck! On the back are some stickers that were put on later! The only little damage is a small piece of plastic that chipped off on the right tip of the yellow protector. (See picture) The length of the bass is 46" by 13" across. There is no wear to the frets! Low starting bid lets see what it brings. I have a feeling that it is a very special guitar that was made for a band! It is just so well made! Shipping is $35.00 insured. It is heavy! Paypal excepted! Please email me if you know more about this Bass! ALSO ON THE BACK IS A HANDPAINTING OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING THE BEATLES WOULD USE... THE POINTING FINGER! VERY UNUSUAL!! ALSO THERE IS SOME RUBBING WEAR ON THE BASE AS SEEN IN THE PICTURES PLUS THIS COULD USE A GOOD CLEANING! GOOD LUCK!"

    Here as the pics:

It looks like something the devil puked after a dinner of chili beans tacos and beer.

And that sure isn't vintage. That headstock is typical 80's hair band spandex pants cheap bass.

That guy didn't even plug it in, he "assumes" it works. If you like the look of it and have money to spend do it. But that's not vintage in my book. I wouldn't touch that with a 5 foot pole.

I'm gonna guess it's a pretty common imported (korean?) copy of a P bass... "Lado" is the brand name that comes to mind with that headstock, but could have been sold under a variety of names. Unless you played it and it really speaks to you, I'd think $250 was a high price for it.

  7. That exact bass was up here a day or two ago. Look for a thread with a title like "Ugliest bass ever..." or something...
  8. The headstock looks like an Ibanez EX series like I used to have.

So, do you think its a fake? The fact that they are EXTREMELY vague about how they obtained it, would seem so. I like the body, but the headstock is hideous...

not more than $175, and it better have a case for that price.
