    I hope yous can help me out, as a bass guitar player, Im doing a research project for school, one of questions is a
    survey. Please take a minute or two just to answer some of my questions, I would be very grateful thank you :)

    What is the brand of the Bass guitar you currently own and/or play:

    You brought this guitar because, its colour? Brand? Cost? Sound?

    Whats better 4 sting or 5 sting?

    If cost was not a matter, if you could own any Bass (in the world) which would it be?

    Famous Bass player you look to for inspiration.

    Who do you think is the most talented Bass player currently out?

    Do you play in a band or solo?

    Did u teach yourself, or get lessons?

    How long have you been playing for?

    Thats about all the questions I can think of. Thank you very much for your time!:)

    * I own two, but I usually play a Fender.
    * Brand. (Hey, a totally inexperienced player still knows "Fender"!)
    * Nothing's better, just different.
    * As many as possible.
    * Everyone.
    * Can't decide.
    * Umm... both? (I do some solo stuff with my home studio)
    * Mainly self-taught.
    * 5 years.

    No offense, but I think this was a pretty stupid survey (since all my answers came out stupid? :p). You can do better than this! ;)

    How is he not supposed to be offended? "Don't be offended, but you're stupid!" :rolleyes:

    Here you go, dude:

    What is the brand of the Bass guitar you currently own and/or play: Fender MIM P-Bass.

    You bought this guitar because, its colour? Brand? Cost? Sound? It was cheap -- the salesman gave me a great deal on it. It was just supposed to be something for me to learn with.

    Whats better 4 sting or 5 sting? Five-strings scare me. I know some people might flame me for this, but I don't feel like I'm "good enough" with a four to have a five -- yet.

    If cost was not a matter, if you could own any Bass (in the world) which would it be? Hmmmm... probably a Musicman Stingray. I would also consider a Fender MIA Jazz and I still have my eye out for an Ibanez ICB500.

    Famous Bass player you look to for inspiration. No one really "inspires" me that much. Originally I wanted to play like Beefcake the Mighty, of GWAR.

    Who do you think is the most talented Bass player currently out? I am mostly into metal and hard rock -- I would say the guy that most impresses me is Beefcake. I don't think he gets enough credit for what he does. I am also a big fan of Peter Steele (Type O Negative).

    Do you play in a band or solo? In a (sh*tty) band.

    Did u teach yourself, or get lessons? Self-taught.

    How long have you been playing for? About 7 years.

    EDIT: Damn typos! :mad:

  4. - I own a Vintage. I can't remember the exact model.
    - It was cheap.
    - I dunno, I dont think one is better than the other
    - I'm currently aiming for a Fender MIA Jazz, I'm too realistic to look at anything over that kinda price.
    - Colin Greenwood (Radiohead).
    - Its impossible to say.
    - In a band.
    - Self-taught. Its probably why I suck.
    - About a year and a half.

    Glad to help. :)

  5. *Fender
    *sound and reputation
    *4 string, keep it simple
    *musicman stingray
    *Fat Mike
    *Matt Freeman
    *band
    *self taught -w- some lessons
    *3 years

    1. Main bass? Carvin.
    2. Sound first. Cost second.
    3. Well, I don't like being stung, so I'd say I'd rather be stung 4 times than 5.
    4. Well, it would be a Double Bass, but I don't know which one for sure.
    5. Jamerson. But then there's always Stevie Wonder.
    6. That's tough to answer. Pattitucci is good.
    7. Solo.
    8. I teach myself through the lessons I receive.

    What is the brand of the Bass guitar you currently own and/or play: MIA Fender P-Bass.

    You brought this guitar because, its colour? Brand? Cost? Sound? A mixture of sound and cost.

    Whats better 4 sting or 5 sting? It's horses for courses. I personally play a four, but I see nothing wrong with a 5 stringer.

    If cost was not a matter, if you could own any Bass (in the world) which would it be? Errr... there are so many to choose from! :) I'd like to have a vintage Jazz bass though.

    Famous Bass player you look to for inspiration. John Entwistle is probably the main one, though there are others I could mention.

    Who do you think is the most talented Bass player currently out? It's hard to say, but Jeff Berlin is pretty useful.

    Do you play in a band or solo? I play in a band.

    Did u teach yourself, or get lessons? Mostly selft taught, with a few pointers along the way to fill in the gaps.

    How long have you been playing for? Four years. God, it doesn't seem that long.

    1. My main bass is my Zon Sonus Custom fretless 5, although I love my Peavey Cirrus 6 and my Pedulla 5 as well. I have 4 more that don't get played much.

    2. I bought the Zon for the tone! Best sounding bass I have ever played.:cool:

    3. I prefer 5, but prefer and own 4, 5 and 6 stringers.

    4. A 250+ year old German or Czech 5 or 6 string upright. Hey, you said that money was no object!:D

    5. Geddy Lee. He is the one who really got me serious about bass.

    6. That's such a subjective question. I guess Bill Dickens or Victor Wooten. But most talented doesn't necessarily mean my favorite.

    7. I play in 3 bands, play at church, and jam with friends.

    8. I am self taught.

    9. 22 years, give or take a couple of months.

    10. No problem.

    1. Sadowsky and Carvin.
    2. Yes.
    3. Neither is "better," but a 5 is much more useful for what I do.
    4. Miraphone 188 5U CC.
    5. No one in particular. I'll cop stuff, but I generally don't look to musicians, actors or athletes for inspiration. :)
    6. How do you define "currently out?" Do you mean not dead, or gay? Is John Entwistle gay?
    7. Church and sub at local high school.
    8. Had years of lessons on drums and tuba, never on bass.
    9. Gettin' close to five years, not that it shows.
    10. No prob.
