Hello! New user here. But ive been looking on this forum for ages.

I've currently got the choice between two great rigs

The first is an ampeg SVT 3 pro with an ampeg 410 half cab for $600. (all American made)

The next is a fender bassman 250 with a matching 410 and 115 cabintes for under $600.

I currently own an ampeg ba210sp combo and love it! The idea of staying with ampeg and being able to use both amps in unison sounds incredible! 6 10's of ampeg bass sounds amazing.

But also, the idea of have a "complete" 410 115 rig sounds great too.

I play a guitar center limited edition ibanez sr500 if that helps. I play a lot of funk, jazz, and blues.

    Opinions, experiences welcome.

It's an idea and not a good one. Go for the Ampeg. You can't go wrong. Get another matching 410 later if you need more volume.

If you're playing Ampeg now and like it - stick with Ampeg. The SVT3 with a 410 is a pro rig that will pretty much take you anywhere. If its in good condition - go for it

  4. I'd 100% suggest the Ampeg over the Fender. The 410 + 115 aren't matching cabinets. Two 410's or two 115's would be matching cabinets. I'd also put money on the SVT-3 Pro head being a much better head than the Fender bassman 250.
