I have a SVT 410HEN and a SVT 115E. Aside from the power amp/preamp rig, what might you suggest? One of the two heads mentioned, of another head? Thanks Dan
I have an Ampeg B2R-which is the EXACT same amp as the SVT350H, but it's rackmountable, much lighter, and $100 cheaper. I actually prefer the B2R's sound to the SVT-3Pro's that I've played and the fact that the B2R was $400 less made the decision real easy. If you like the sound of solid-state Ampegs you can get the B4, which puts 1000 watts bridged into 4 ohms-more than twice the SVT3-Pro's power, for about the same price (~$850). Or you could try the B5, which has dual channels with distortion and an octaver. If I were going to buy a new head in that price range I'd be checking out the Ashdown ABM500 and the Eden WT400.
