YOU COULD GET TRY AND GET A 4 OHM 4X10 AND 1X15. THE 4X12S WOULD BE GREAT BUT THEY'RE ALSO BIGGER THAN 4X10S AND 1X15S.

I had the SVTCL-AV head and ran it through an Ampeg 8x10 cab and later a Mesa 4x10 and 1x15 setup. I know this is apples and oranges with two different brands of cabinets, but I liked the Mesa setup better. More clean bottom and way easier on the back. If you ever have to haul up or down a couple of flights of stairs with the 8x10 cab you will know what I mean.

ok, i still have cab issues....i picked up an eden 410xlt, but it is 8 ohm...it sounds great through a mesa m-pulse 600, but the svt classic is my sound....i need to find 2 4ohm cabs so for smaller gigs i can just use one, and then for the bigger gigs, take both....all i can find now is the amoeg 412he....please help....by the way...the eden and mesa are both for sale

    u do know, one 4-ohm cab = 4 ohms
    and two 8-ohm cabs = 4 ohms

unless i completely missed something with the whole power tube--amp-ness...

yes i understand...i have the ampeg 4x10 he and 1x15 cabs right now...they are both 8 ohm, so together thats 4 ohms....thats fine...it sounds good...but i want 2 4ohm cabs so i can just use one cab if i want to....i cant run one 8 ohm with the ampeg svt classic, but i can run 1 4ohm, or 2 4 ohms....make any sense as to what im looking for

if that is like the original 70's svt's it can push 2 4ohm loads at once... so you could have 2 4ohm cabs or 1 4ohm and 2 8ohm cabs or 4 8ohm cabs .... either way you go you are going to feel what you are playing :)

If I had the cash I would be picking up the ampeg 4x12 with a 1x18 to put under it.

they're both 4ohm but I don't know if that would give youthe suond you're looking for.

Slightly off topic, but related : if I run 2 x 4 ohm cabs in series that still equals 4 ohms? Will a PF-500 head handle that?

Do by our mean daisy chaining two 4 Ohm cabs? That is still parallel and would be 2 ohms.

  20. Why not start a new thread instead of bumping a 9 year old one?

Two 4 ohm cabs in series would be 8 ohms, though you'd generally need a specially made cable to do this.

Two 4 ohm cabs in parallel would give you a 2 ohm load.
