  1. BEFORE I START, IM NOT SHOUTING. IM AT WORK AND THIS TERMINAL IS SET UP FOR CAPS ONLY. SORRY.

SAT NIGHT MY SVT PRO III WENT DOWN, FIRST PROBLEM IVE HAD SINCE BOUGHT IN 99. IT STARTED LOSSING VOLUME TO THE POINT WHERE YOU COULD NOT HEAR IT AT ALL. WELL IT FINNALY STARTED TO COME BACK UP BUT STILL WAS NOT TO PAR
IT ALSO LOST SIGNAL(LINE OUT DIRECT) TO MAIN BOARD. SO
IF IM RIGHT, THAT TELLS ME ITS A PREAMP PROBLEM.
CHECKED ALL TUBES, THEY SEEMED TO BE WORKING NICE RED-ORANGE COLLOR. ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM BEFORE I TAKE IT TO SOMEONE TO FIX WITHOUT GETTING RAPED! THANKS FOR ANY HELP. TONY :bawl: :help:

It could be a preamp problem, absolutely. But first..... is it an active bass? If so, could the battery be in need of changing?

What you've described sounds a lot like what happens when a battery dies in an active bass.

  4. dude, seriously, caps lock gets annoying

It could be a dodgy pre tube? (the fact they are glowing only means the heaters working)

  5. SORRY MAN, I HAVE NO CHOICE ON THIS TERMINAL....... :rollno:

Sounds like it's time to re-tube the pre. My 3-pro is doing the same thing right now as well. My 4-pro acted the same way when the pre tubes started getting weak (and I beat the crap outta that thing). New pre tubes went in and all is well now. It's fairly easy and not too expensive.

  7. Fair enough, like everyone else is saying, look into getting a retube done

    JJ's are nice :)

THIS THING IS A REAL ROCK, BEST AMP IVE EVER OWNED.
