I amost always use an 8X10...It is easy for me to move around, and space on the floor is same as a small cab. But, if I want to use a small cab in a small setting, I use an Eden 210XLT 4ohm. It works great. I prefer 10's over larger drivers, and the Eden cab has lots of low end.

Well, what sound do you want? I've heard Jim Bergantino's 610 has a nice SVT vibe to it, yet more modern. It's 36x24x15, so smaller than the 810. Or you could go with a 322.

Or you could go with an Aguilar GS212, and Eden 212.

I think those would go allright.

    I'd go with 1 or 2 Berg 210s or an Aggie 212.

accugroove cabs suck the very tube life from your amp and kicks it right back at ya.

I had to downsize my 4x10" and 1x15" doghgouse size cabs. I did a gig where a bass amp was provided. An Ampeg V4B and an Eden 2x12". I bought the same cab and sold my doghouses.

I wanted to get a cheaper 2x12" 8 ohm cab as well and picked upa used peavy which I am really impressed with. I had to take the back off and it is built solid and sounds great.

I'd say go with a 410 cabinet (4 ohms) or 2 210 (8 Ohm) cabinets. If you've been playing through the 8-10 you won't be happy with the sound of a single 2-10 cabinet. I have a 410 SWR Goliath III (8 Ohm), Goliath Jr. III (8 Ohm) and a Berg HT210 (8 Ohm). I take one or two cabinets (depending on the gig) and they really work out great. My favorite is the Goliath III with the Berg HT-210. They combine for a 4 Ohm load, are fairly easy to transport and sound awesome together with either my Thunderfunk or Walkabout head.
