Swapping Push/pull for minis, 1 tone for 2

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by G On Bass, Aug 3, 2013.

  1. Apologies in advance if this has been covered, but I'm having a tough time searching out what I'm trying to do.

I have a 2 pickup, passive bass configged the following way from the factory:

V/V/T, with each volume knob being a push/pull for HB/SC tapping.

There is some kind of existing issue with it as there is still some somewhat significant volume coming out (and controllable by the tone knob) even when both volumes are off. Since it's gotta have some work anyway, I'd like to rewire it thusly:

V/T/V/T with 2 minis for the coil taps. Any ideas where I might go to find a wiring diagram for that? Thanks in advance.
  2. You're going to run into the usual issues with having two tones. You can either wire it normally, and have interaction between the controls, or add resistors like the early stacked knob Jazzes, and lose output.

Other than that, just pick a VTVT diagram, and add the switching for the pickups.
  3. Thanks.

Can I get by with an SPST or do I need a DPST?
