i was wondering if anybody had a laney bass amp and knew what sweep means. its a knob on my amp that goes from 0-10 and i can seem to tell what it does. i think it might be like the left pedal on a piano where you dont know what differance it makes until somebody tells you

    please help

  2. It's probably a 'Mid Sweep' ie: the sweep knob controls the part of the midrange your 'mid boost/cut' knob next to it affects, low mids, mid mids, high mids etc. This is what's on my Laney Combo and quite a few 3 band preamps (The Ibanez 'vari mid 3 band' (something like that) for instance).

    If that's not the case, I don't know :)

ahah! I've been hearing sweep, but not putting the term together with what it is. I love that knob on my head (350x. sorry for high-jacking)
