Sweet New Gecko Bodies in Showcase

    Man I've wanted to build a Gecko for so long I can't stand it. This new round of bodies that just showed up aren't helping:

    Yea, that's one of 3 SOLID indian rosewood bodies that are all just FANTASTIC looking. Solid Indian Rosewood just sounds so wastefull and self indulgent, but it looks sooooo good.

    I'm new here ( notice the name , as if I would not reply ) .
    I think the 6th one is Wild Maple . Wow ! shes Hot !!!!
    Mine is plain Mahogany .
    Great basses , very comfortable .
    I wish I could afford another one .

    I've found EBMM basses work well for me, but I'd still like to build up a Gecko 5 some day. Probably the same configuration as the FNA I recently sold - swamp ash body with a wenge/wenge neck. Maybe a figured maple cap on the body, but probably not - I really like the visual contrast between the dark wenge and the light ash. Make it narrow with a single EMG in the P bass position, and I'd be set.

    I think I'd prefer the headstock to be set up for HipShot Ultralites, and the body for one of the individual string bridges like TBC instead of the "normal" Gecko bridge. No lizard inlay, either.

    I think that sounds like a GREAT idea...

    Where's that guy that works for the Turtle....
