I have found a SWR Workingman's Tower 8x10 cab for $300 however looking for opinions on it. From what I gathered they were made in the early 2000's and is a 4 ohm with a 800w capacity. It also weighs 110lbs making it one of the lightest 8x10's I have seen. It has the handles and tilt back rollers on it as well. The cab itself is in great cosmetic and working condition, I am just not able to try it out. Anyone have any input/opinions of if this is a good cab and decent price? I play mostly rock tones.

it's a great cab. a little heavy, but its an 8x10, so i think you understand what that means. other than that, they are great cabs. I still pine for a henry 8x8 to this day.

Yeah I understand, glad to hear it is a great cab. Sure it will be heavy, but it's one of the lighter 8x10's I have come across and from a few other people who have owned or used one say it is also easy to move and maneuver around.

$300 seems fair. plug in and crank it.

I have one and it is a fantastic cab. I don't think you can get a better cab for the money. I had a Goliath Sr and loved it, it had a little richer tone than the Working Tower, but Ipaid twice as much. I would love to get a Megoliath and am on the hunt for a local deal...but the Working Tower is such a good cab that I will buy another if I find it....not sure where I will put it though....lol.

Does it have a good sound/tone output? I play mostly rock tones. Is it really as easy as many have stated to move and such? Like I said it seems to be one of the lighter 8x10's.

yes it has a great rock tone... I am more of a slapper and it is not as sweet sounding for slap at a standard goliath cab...not the same horns, but it has great clarity and tons of roar for my taste. I run a Jazz, Ric, Stingray ect all through it with a 1400 watt Ampeg B4R head running bridged mono with Ampeg, SWR and Alembic preamps.... I am the kind of guy who would not usually purchase a working mans cab, I have 6 other cabs and they are all from the pro Goliath line. This cab stands with them dollar for dollar. I have never had an 810 before...I wont be getting rid of this cab.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I am debating between getting this cab or getting a Peavey 4x10 for about a hundred less. Having an 8x10 would certainly allow me to be prepared for pretty much any gig and situation, but I am not entirely sure if I would need something as big as a 8x10. Plus the 4x10 is cheaper and smaller.
