    Hi all,
I wanted to compare these two 18 inch cabs.

    The SWR is rated at:
    Power Handling: 400 watts RMS
    Impedance: 8 Ohms
Frequency Response and SPL: 100 dB SPL @ 2W1M
    (–6dB @ 25 Hz and 3 kHz)

The Carvin RL 118 is rated at:
    800 watts
    4 ohms,

    Which cab would be louder?
Is the Carvin cab for real?
  2. Just for interest, what is the amp you are using and are these cabinets going to be used stand alone?

    Thanks for the reply BassmanPaul,
I have a Warwick Tubepath 10.1 with JJ preamp tubes.
This amp puts out 600 watts at 8 Ohms. and a 1000 watts at 4 ohms.
Yes I will be using these cabs standalone, looking for a single speaker solution loud enough to play gigs with a drummer.
I plan to use a 15 inch or a 18 inch, and separately for bigger gigs a 410 neo 800-1200 watts.

Why not just use the 410 for everything? It will be way louder than either.

    Thanks MMBongo for your reply,
My concern that the 410 will be too loud for some gigs, or do you reckon it will be ok turned right down?
