I've done some searching but just wanted to maybe get some more recent opinions. $200 for a SWR Silverado 4x8 combo? yay? nay? By itself I don't think it would hang volume wise. I do however have a Peavey Tour series 4x10 (8 ohm) I can use with it. Is there any reason I should not mix the 410 with the 4 8's?

Sounds like a good deal to me, I'd go for it.

That is in fact, a weak amp. I had one for a second, and flipped it immediately.
Nice enough concept, but it sure isn't "half of a Henry the 8x8," as it works out.

But, if you play it, and you like it, then go for it.

i used a cab of one as the basis for a nearful 12 sub. if you port it similarly, the internal dimensions are a good match.

other than that...i expect that better options abound.

Thanks, I played it in the store and it sounded pretty good although it didn't seem to have as much volume as I felt it might. I'm sure it will be more with an additional 4x10 but maybe still not enough. Then again, I could buy it and actually test it out at practice. If it doesn't do the job, I can return it.

For $200 that would make a fine practice amp. I've owned one and it didn't floor me. I wish I would have tried it with a 1-15 cab in addition to the on board 8's.
