    Price:
    200.00

You know this amp. Red letters.
    In good condition.
One screw-on cap missing from banana clip in back. Bi-amp able.
Will add pictures later. $200 Shipped Midwest. West cost actual shipping split. Would prefer trade for decent 5 string bass.

Do you know what year? Does it has a fan?

Unfortunate, I'm not sure on both. I don't think there is a fan and the year, I don't know and it's been packed for shipment for awhile. Are you looking to trade or purchase?

Purchase. I have one, an older one, no fan, but the circuit board is kinda cooked. Wouldn't mind possibly getting another for old time's sake, these are nice amps, a classic in fact, that I used for years before eventually going into micro rigs.

I'm only selling because ZI now use a Demeter HBP-1/amp/Epifani in the picture.
The Demeter gives me all I need. Basically just for church and recording.

This is a very early SM400 without the transparency control from the original factory
I have its’ mate and the are incredibly well built and seem to have very few problems.
I bought mine new in the mid 80’s and it has never had any issues; not many new amps will go 40 years without shop visit.
They deliver huge power and sound MUCH more powerful than 400 watts.

I agree with the above. I played through one of these for many years. This version without the fan is really great. Sure there are lighter, louder amps in production today but this head has a particular sound that is wonderful. Very versatile EQ too. With an efficient speaker this head will deliver the goods. Can't beat the price...
