Anyone know of anywhere in the UK where I can source a footswitch for my SWR SM-900 head? Ideally without having to take out a bank loan to buy it Alternatively (better?), is a schematic diagram of said footswitch available anywhere? I'm handy with a soldering iron so I'd quite happily have a crack at making one.
The SM-900 footswitch is just switches between EQ1 and EQ2, right? I think you'll be able to use any 'on/off' switch for this. Something like this would probably be overkill, but would work: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/AB200.aspx This one has only one channel and lights up: http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=478&ParentId=52 And something like this is probably work just fine...maybe: http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=56&ParentId=52 And I found this on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-Gen...0?hash=item53dc150878&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177 I'm sure if you wanted to make your own, you'd need a simple three pole switch, an enclosure, a TRS connector and some cable. You're only switching between A and B, not A, B, A/B, or off.
iirc the swr sm900 swtiched between eq one, eq two Or both. even so that's a really simple switch. i can't imagine swr designing a special one just for that amp. i guaranetee you can have someone make you one or make one yourself once you get the actual layout from someone who knows. have you asked swr?
Yeah...I googled it, found the manual, and after a quick scan it said that it just switched between 1 and 2, not both. I might be wrong.
Hi chaps, thanks for the replies. I've found this pic of a proper SWR unit and it appears to have a stereo jack... hmm. One of the guys here is sending me some pics of the internals, so I should be able to work out what's going on! Thanks all.
well in that case super easy. with a trs jack looks like you just got yourself a fancy where does the power go box. fwiw, i always liked using both eqs at once on the 900
My bad, it doesn't work the way I said. It does require a stereo cable/jack/on/off/on switch. I just fired mine up and figured it out: Ring to tip= upper EQ Open circuit= Both EQ's Tip to sleeve= Lower EQ
