I have a used but not abused SWR Studio 220. No issues, a little rack rash on top but overall in excellent cosmetic and working conditiion. The right corner of the face by the rack mounting hole is slightly bent in. Not enough to cause a problem. Here is a link to specs:

Asking for $225. shipping and paypal negotiable.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Quads,

Many people love the sound of these old SWR's--especially the vintage Studio 220--but are scared off by its relatively low wattage. However, the Preamp Out on this unit is SWEET and drives a power amp nicely.

So, this head can be a great little unit that you rack up with a power amp for big shows, or free-hand to your coffeehouse gig! A great tube pre (plus power section) for this price equals, IMHO a good value...

From back in the day when SWR used to build awesome sounding amps. I used to play through one of these. Barely loud enough for practice with a rock band, but otherwise great.

Well, I owned this amp and it was plenty loud enough for the 5 piece classic rock band I was in at the time.

I love the tone of this thing.

220w can be a lot or a little--it all depends on where you put it...if you're boosting the '40 and under club' you'll run out of room fast. An efficient cab like an Aguilar S210 helps...

  10. I had one of these a few years ago. A fine fine sound but, as the above posters say, not the most powerful. Great tone and nice features.

Let's make a deal bump. :hyper:

An efficient cab definately helps. Terrific preamp if you dig the SWR sound.

  12. Bump for a great sounding amp. ;)

Any interest in trading the ST-220 for an Ashdown RPM-1 in excellent to mint condition?
