Im still looking at preamps when I ran across this one. I been looking at a Navigator but this would be easier on my wallet. I like overdrive but I dont use it all the time. What I really want to know is how is the clean sound. Does it sound like the SM's or something different? :help:

I had one for a short period of time. I didn't care for the clean tone. It was kind of thin imo.

As always, it's best to try one out first. Just to add to your dilemma, I'll chime in that I loved the clean tone, as well as the overdrive. Best sounding piece of SWR gear I've come across. I've heard some nice sounding SWR stuff, but it always seemed underpowered to me. The preamp allowed me to have that nice sound with whatever power level I wanted. The speaker out was useful for practice, and sounded pretty good too.
