SWR WM15 woes...

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Garrett Mireles, Aug 30, 2004.

  1. Is there a trick to getting a good tone out of this thing? I've been playing with the tone on it for the past few days. Closest thing I got to liking was the Rock preset found in the user manual, then I lowered the treb and raised the mids a little...but it still sounded stale.

I compared it to my Johnson 30 watt amp that' i've played through for 3 years (LOL, I had no money for a long time) and they sound pretty similiar, tone-wise. there sure as f*** isn't a *$640* difference in tone. The tone on this SWR is like...unfound. The sound is just...there...nothing special to it. Like a food dish with no seasoning to it (i must be hungry).

I like the Ampeg type tones, and I realize this is SWR not Ampeg but I'm trying to achieve something similar. It seems like this amp is best suited for slapping.
