Has anyone got any comments on this old head?
    How does it sound?
What is it worth on the used market?

I don't know and I don't know if you're interested in this but I just thought I'd let you know that Bill Spangler had a Workingman's 300 on sale in the For Sale section recently. Same pre, more power. Great little head at a good price. Not sure if he's sold it yet but it's worth looking in to.

  3. I used to work in a store that was an SWR dealer and they had both the 160 and the 300. I liked 'em both, but I'd really only recommend the 160 for intimate/casual venues or as a practice amp. I do a lot more high energy rock and funk and I don't know that the 160 would be able ot cut it in the ensembles who hire me. I had a pair of the 300s for a biamped rig and they were *great*!

    fom the low end,

I heard that they are good to use direct in the studio or live with PA support.

I saw one used for $175.
