Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by krash311, May 11, 2002.

  1. Hey, I just got the SWR Workingman's 4004 as a present for graduation and I have a question about it. What exactly is the limiter and limiter light function. And is it bad if the limiter light keepes flashing when i play? Please help me out here. Thanx!!!

The limiter keeps the signal going into the amp from going above a certain level. I think it's like a compresion. It's not bad if the green light flashes while you play, that just tells you when the signal is being limited. It's bad if the red light by the gain knob flashes, then you are clipping the amp.

actually, you want the green light to be pretty much solidly lit, but it should go up to red every now and then when you really dig in. i dont know if this makes sense, but they want it right in between.
