  1. looking for a 'direct' replacement bridge for my short scale jazz that doesn't need drilling. Any recommendations?
    thanks,b

why are you replacing your bridge?

  3. it's mostly the barrels/adjusters i'm wanting to replace as they are so big and its a sloppy system.

As you'll see in other posts regarding bridges... I doubt you'll
find a replacement bridge out there that'll be a direct replacement.

I don't recall anyone having that kind of luck. Every bridge
that I've ever replaced over the years (on any bass) always
    needed to be re-drilled.

I wouldn't worry about it, just measure carefully where the
new bridge should line up (side to side for correct string
alignment) as well as top to bottom for correct intonation
    range of adjustment.

    hope this helps,
    Dave

  5. thanks dave...no real problem there. i'm now thinking of getting a vintage fender bridge just for the grooved saddles because i can't find saddles available on there own.
