I used an SX Jazz and a Programmable SansAmp BDDI on a tour last year of Asia and Africa with no amp. Worked very well and sound pretty good even through relatively small PA's.

thanks man i am surprised too i never use it straight through.... is there any way to run the Sans Amp through my Ampeg 6-10 directly or would i need a power amp of some sort?

  5. I think he meant he ran it straight to the PA from the DI, and used monitors, rather than using an amp onstage.

You *can* run a SansAmp direct to a power amp; it has a switchable boost to better match it to a power amp's input voltage.

Presence is almost all the way up treble rolled off bass is angled toward the B in Bass and drive is halfway-ish the blend didnt matter because i was running it direct

  8. The blend matters. Even when running direct.

If I recall Blend mixes the affected and dry output.

Here's a link for some tunes my band did. The recording chain was P Bass > SBBDI > MOTU > PC.

I was pretty happy with the results.

Good bass sound! It's well defined and wraps around the guitar tone.
