SX SJB-62 5-string?

    I play traditional and contemporary gospel through a Fender Bassman 100 connected to a PA system. I am thinking very seiously of purchasing the above mentioned bass. Has anyone bought one and can give me some buying advice? Also, what did you have to do with it once you got it?

    I will tell you up front that there are many TB'ers who have FAR more experence with the Essex basses than I but I had one for about a week and sent it back because the one I had (The 75 Jazz reissue copy) was too heavy.

    That probably won't be the case with the one you're looking at but the other problem with the Essex fivers is the string spacing -- its rather narrow when compared to a comparable Fender.
