    I have for sale a mint SX SPJ62. $185 + shipping

The reason I'm selling it is because I am purchasing a used Yamaha BB1600 and don't need more than 1 P bass.

Things I've done to this bass are relatively minimal but make a huge difference to the instrument.

    • New nut cut by professional luthier
    • Dimarzio Model P and Model J pickups
    • Pro setup done by Jeff Berlin's bass maintenance guy - also gave it a first rate fret dressing

You could buy an SX yourself and mod it out, spending well over $200 (not to mention the cost of a luthier) but I've already gone through all of that for you.

Here are some terrible quality cell phone pics in the meantime. It's nowhere near as yellow in real life.

I know - no pics up yet. The bass is at my father's house.

I'm still perplexed as to why no bites.

I'm REALLY tempted, but I promised myself that I wouldn't buy another bass guitar until 2007. UGH! AND I'm really itchin for a nice P, and the J bridge is an added bonus. Someone needs to hop on this, it is a GREAT DEAL!

Thanks for the kind words! I sure hope someone hops on it. Honestly, the amount invested into it to make it a quality bass is far above the amount I'm asking for.

You should get it darkfish1. It'll probably be the cheapest bass you'll ever be tempted by ;)

Guys I'm still selling this bad boy.

I put some flats on it and it's absolutely killin'. I am not joshing you - this bad boy could be a regular gigger and if I didn't need the money it would be my #1 at gigs.

Did I mention it's the lightest bass I've ever owned?

I don't guess you could get a sound clip or two? I'd like to hear those pickups in it.

    Thanks,

    P.

Hmm. That might take some doing.
Might be able to get it done this Saturday night or Sunday.

I'll describe the tone a little...

The P pickup has a lot of output. As much or more than my active basses. Punchier than any of them. It's very clear and round. The Model P and Model J pickups are built this way.

I can roll the tone UP and it gets .. growlier, especially with the P pup soloed. If the J enters in there's a more concentrated and specific tonality only a J can give.

Roll the tone off and you get vintage thump and that's how I like it personally.
