Ive seen everyone recommend SXs here and i cant seem to find ANY shops in the uk that sell them.
i kinda want to get a cheap guitar/bass and then just mess around with it.

anyone know if you can get SXs here in UK, or recommend any good (equally cheap)alternatives

SX basses are built by a Chinese company then imported by an American retailer (Rondo?) who have them badged up as "SX".

There's a UK retailer that does the same thing with exactly the same instruments, except they have them badged up as "Jim Deacon".

Try your luck there. The Sxguitar.com site is down, but the spain one works and someone ordered from there on here before...

One of the guitar shops on Denmark Street, London (NOT the Bass Cellar) has some SX jazz basses in stock.
  6. McCormacks in Glasgow has the odd SX, and a shedload of Jim Deacons. They sell 'em on ebay as well, I noticed recently. Mac's Music
