i'm in search for a guitar. this is due to my new "career" of ona man band. i love the Gretsch Double Jet. i have found that there are two "cheap" version of this guitar in the Electromatic and Synchromatic line. can you help me? i'm not able to see the differences between the 2 lines...
  2. Well.. you can look in www.gretschpages.com which has stuff about gretsch, and a discussion page, but as said over there... no one really knows of a difference. The specs. look pretty simular, so there might be a difference, but no one really knows what it is.

If you wanna swap out the PU's on it, (do those come with filtertrons?) you can put in some TV Jones Filtertrons which are made to the specs. of early filtertrons, and are very high quality, and said to be the closest thing to a NOS filtertron. Also, the modern ones are made of ceramic, and the TV jones ones are made of alinco (the original material)
