Syncing the band and lyrics in a live karaoke band

    Right now I'm in the process of starting a live karaoke band, but I'm not sure how to keep the band in sync with the lyrics. Ideally, the drummer has a click track with two measures of count-in that's synced the lyric video for the singer, but I'm not sure how to make that happen. If anyone knows how to do that, or uses another method, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me about it.

    I'm not sure if this is the best way, but it's an option:

    Make a video of the lyrics as you want them to appear on the screen. Record a click track as the audio of that video (with a count in). Send the audio to the drummer's in-ears.

    Seems like a lot of work, considering you would have to make a video for every song you might play. Most karaoke bands I have sang with had a lap top and they would bring up a document with the lyrics and tell me to scroll down as needed using the arrow keys.
