Could use some feedback on my tone in this tune.

The town I'm from and the people in general don't seem to like a lot of bass effects. So I'm needing some input from other people outside of this area. Any input?

It is not mixed by any means, I'd like to know what you think about the tones.

    Verses are:
    Bass>oc2>tall font russian>polytope>bdpg

    Chorus:
    Bass>Myco three

(We mic'ed bass cab on all tracks and ran direct).

Nice track, really dig the synthy tone.

The first break/chorus strikes me as almost TOO much of a change in feel, I was really happy when the synthy sound of the verses returned.

I agree about the chorus change and approve the synthy bass

BDPG is used for what if the TFR is for the dirt?

I used it as the beefy dirty preamp, everything is going through the bdpg. Its set at unity, with the tone knob about 10

I've been wanting to try the BDPG. Looks cool. I want another preamp pedal than my trusty VT.

  7. I get mine out of Prunes and Custard into various filters.

The synth sound is awesome. You guys kinda remind me of The Cure a little bit. Nice work. The polytope really sounds great. Now I want one.

Sounds great. Synth sound is superb. +1 on that comment about The Cure, very Robert Smithy guitar. Booo on the fade out though, however, I despise fade-outs.

    Ohh this is nice =)
But I also prefer the synth to the rock.

The bass tone is cool indeed. I'd boost the (low) mids a bit to make it stand out a little more.

The snare is pretty bad, though. Nothing but a little pop, needs more sustain and rattle.

  13. That sounded wonderful. I actually really liked how you pulled back on the chorus and let the guitars dominate. Really nice playing, I also really liked the guitar playing. I think all you need to do is to get a slightly more balanced mix and you will have a very nice song. Maybe have the fadeout start a little later, there is some fun stuff going on there. Really curious about the vocals on this one.

    Really like that...

A little OT, but listened to the other tune you have up on soundcloud too. Very good. If you don't mind me asking, what fx were used on that one?

Thanks guys for the feedback. Means a lot, I actually wrote the bulk of that tune. On the tc ditto. Great tool.

As far as the other one goes,

    I used a badger schism:
    Chn 1, octron>agro
    Chn 2, fuzzrocious grey stache
Out of schism to bdpg. Clean on verses.

I don't get to use effects that much but hopefully it's tasteful when I do. That's why I'm liking the feedback.

  18. The transition between verse and chorus is fine as it is, the change in feel is appropriately different. Good synth sound and good tone on the chorus, too.

I like the tone from the TAFM much better. Maybe dial down the polytope a little more and give the myco a little more gain? Also, I love how huge the bridge section sounds
