t bird bass with bolt on neck question

i plan on putting a thunderbird style bass neck on a t bird body that will be bolt on. it has the fretboard extension. will i need to rout my neck pocket a biot deeper so the fretboard rests on the body and if so what do i do about the bridge , rout a area so it can be recessed so my saddle scan go low enough. or do i leave teh neck pocket the norm depth 5/8" and the fretboard extension is not touching the body. any ideas?
